Part-Time Quant
The ten to read first
  • Included: Build strategies without writing code: when to buy, when to sell, how much, where you get out
  • Included: Start from a complete template and change it to suit you
  • Included: Test any idea against real market history
  • Included: Five checks for luck on every backtest, each with its verdict and the reason
  • Included: Real trading costs charged inside the run: spread, slippage and commission
  • Included: Limits you set once: per-trade cap, daily loss limit, drawdown stop, gross exposure cap, single-instrument cap, slippage bound
  • Included: Trade it with pretend money first (practice trading; your broker calls it paper trading)
  • Included: Autopilot runs an armed strategy on a schedule. Practice only in this build. Every order goes through the same checks
  • Included: The stop: one press halts every order, with no confirmation and no licence check
  • Included: Live trading sits behind an arm step you take yourself, with your own broker keys, on your machine

01

Write it down

  • Included: Work from any browser
  • Included: If the engine cannot run a rule, it refuses and tells you why. It never runs something close instead
02

Test it

  • Included: Candlestick charts of real bars with your entries, exits, stops and targets drawn on them
  • Included: Every run is stamped with where its data came from
  • Included: Tested on prices it never saw (walk-forward): tuned on one stretch of history, scored on the next
  • Included: The chance the result was luck (probability of backtest overfitting)
  • Included: The chance the true score is above zero, counting every version you tried (deflated Sharpe ratio)
  • Included: Part of the history held back while you build, then scored last (out-of-sample holdout)
  • Included: Compare versions: the same strategy under two rule settings on the same past prices
  • Included: Every difference between versions is traced to a recorded event. Nothing is sorted by return. The whole comparison is labelled a historical simulation
  • Included: A library of optional checks from published research. Each one acts on your own strategy
  • Included: Harder testing: purged cross-validation, a walk-forward degradation check, a cost budget in Sharpe units, error bars on your Sharpe ratio
  • Included: Behaviour checks: mean-reversion half-life, a stationarity check, a Monte Carlo drawdown distribution with a ruin bound
  • Included: Sizing: volatility-targeted position sizing, and Kelly sizing that refuses to give you a number when your data cannot show an edge
  • Included: Regime and timing: market-regime classification from your instrument's real bars, stop-loss coherence, position buffering, rebalance-timing luck
  • Included: Each one names the research behind it. Each one says what it costs you as well as what it gives you
  • Included: None of them is a pre-built system. Switching one on is not a promise about returns
03

Your limits

  • Included: Every order is checked against those limits, and against everything you already hold, before it goes
  • Included: A budget per strategy (a sleeve) that can only tighten your limits, never widen them
04

Watch it work

  • Included: Every practice fill is labelled simulated, everywhere you see it
  • Included: Scheduled routines: updates from your own portfolio, journal and runs. None is created without your explicit yes
  • Included: Routines are written by the Claude CLI on your machine, on your own Claude usage. Without it, you get a plain notification
  • Included: Every routine is listed, and you can edit or delete it. Switching one off removes its scheduled job completely
05

What happened

  • Included: Performance over time: equity, drawdowns and their recovery, monthly and yearly returns, exposure, rolling Sharpe
  • Included: All of it from a real backtest or your own record, none of it projected
  • Included: Your worst losing stretch (max drawdown), measured with open positions valued at every bar's close
  • Included: An order journal of every order and every refusal, never filled in for you
  • Included: A review of your own record: what happened, why, what the checks said, and what to try next
  • Included: Suggestions arrive as comparisons you can run yourself. Nothing is applied for you
06

On your machine

  • Included: Your own copy of PTQ, on your own computer
  • Included: Use it on your laptop and your desktop: 2 device seats
  • Included: Ask Claude about your own strategies (the MCP connector). It can read. It cannot arm, trade or reach a key
  • Included: See your signals on TradingView: a Pine v6 study export
07

Included allowance

  • Included: Credits for compute and support chat, included in the subscription
  • Included: Support chat that answers from the same documentation you can read

Money questions

How does billing work?
One payment of $997 in USD, through Stripe. It covers a year. No seats to count, no usage tiers to decode, no surprise line items.
Can I try it before I pay?
No. There is one plan, and nothing is issued before payment: no licence key, no credits, no product access. Instead, this site tells you exactly what the software does and does not do before you spend anything.
Why annual only?
Because the workflow is slow on purpose. Build, test, then practice trade for weeks before anything is live. Monthly billing sells impatience. A year matches how the product is meant to be used.
Is PTQ available where I live?
Availability is confirmed at checkout based on your jurisdiction. If PTQ cannot be sold in your region, checkout says so before any money moves.
